Samantha Seal, CPDT

Samantha Seal's favorite part about teaching Dog Training is witnessing the joy and playfulness that grows out of genuine, two-way communication between dog and handler.

Samantha came to Sunny Acres Pet Resort after 7 years as a corporate analyst. In addition to teaching classes, Samantha also manages the Boarding Kennel and the successful Day Camp program that she pioneered.

Samantha knows the frustration of owning and loving a "difficult dog."  She became a serious student of dog training when her own dog needed more guidance than she knew how to provide.  She read book after book--one of her favorites being "Lads Before the Wind" by Karen Pryor, who also wrote the famous clicker-training book, "Don't Shoot the Dog."

When she realized how positive training was transforming her dog and herself, and how much fun it was, Samantha began spending all of her free time studying dog behavior, learning, and training methodologies. She attended many seminars, workshops and camps with some of the dog world's most respected trainers.

Samantha owns several wonderful dogs with whom she competes at the highest levels of Canine Agility, and dabbles in Herding. As a Certified Pet Dog Trainer, she also enjoys helping aggressive and otherwise difficult dogs. The phrase her students are most likely to hear is, "Increase your rate of reinforcement!" [Translation: Reward more by setting your dog up to win!]
