We use your vet when possible because your pet’s health records are on file there. If your vet is unavailable, we will use Triangle Veterinary Hospital. If after hours, we use Triangle Pet Emergency on Chapel Hill Blvd. We will also try to contact the pet’s owner, so please be sure to leave us your emergency contact number. We charge $50 for taking your pet to the vet. DOGS Your dog must be current on vaccinations for Distemper and Parvo according to your veterinarian's vaccination protocol. We require a Bordetella vaccine every 12 months to protect against upper respiratory infections. The Bordetella vaccine is effective within 24 hours after it is administered, but is most effective after 72 hours. Your pet must have his first rabies vaccine by age of 4 months, and this is effective for 1 year. Then a rabies vaccine is required every 3 years. CATS FVRCP every 12 months to provide protection against Feline Virus (distemper), Rhinotracheitis, Calici, and Panleukopenia. Rabies vaccine every 3 years. We recommend Leukemia vaccine, but this is not necessary for boarding. What if my pet's vaccinations have expired? For the safety of our beloved guests, we will not check-in animals that are overdue for vaccinations. We offer Bordetella on site for $15. We strongly recommend that dogs get Bordetella at least 72 hours before checking-in to board. Do you offer walks and/or playtimes? Personal playtimes are with a person, not with other dogs. If you want your dog to play with other dogs, please consider Day Camp. The personal playtimes are in a very large yard with lots of room to play. We do playtimes every day of the week. You may sign up your pet for as many personal playtimes as you would like.Time outside of the kennel is not included in the boarding fee. If you do not sign up for an activity, your pet will stay in his room for his entire stay. Although we have large rooms and clean continuously, we recommend signing up for personal playtimes, even if your pet is old. Not every dog wants to play, but signing up for a playtime gives your pet a change of scenery, fresh air and additional personal attention. During playtime, some dogs want to play fetch, some want to race around and burn off energy, some want to cuddle and most just want to sniff and pee on things. A personal playtime is the best $6 you could spend on your dog. It improves your pet's emotional and physical well-being while he is boarding.
Can I bring toys with my pets? Yes, but be aware that sometimes they get destroyed by chewing. Please do not bring any ball that is smaller than a softball because it can get lodged in our drain system. You may also purchase toys from our store. Please label everything with a permanent marker. Can I bring my pet’s bed from home? Yes. Occasionally, a pet will chew on it, or use the bathroom on it, so take this into consideration if you do decide to bring your own bedding. Please label everything with a permanent marker. We do not always have time to wash your bedding. If your bed becomes soiled, we will replace it with our bedding. Can I bring my pet’s own food? We serve Canidae for dogs and Felidae for cats, it is great kibble and our guests love it! We seldom have a dog that will not eat. If your pet is on a special diet, definitely bring your own food. We require that each meal from home be in its own plastic baggie, so all we have to do for your pet at meal time is empty a baggie into a bowl. Please label everything with a permanent marker. If your pet's food is not separated into individual ziploc baggies for each meal, we will charge $1 per bag to bag it for you. Any special diets (anything other than dry kibble in ziploc baggies) will incur a $2 per pet per day fee. Can I bring treats for my pets? Yes. Please be sure to bring your treats in a sealed container, properly marked with your pet’s name. We will be happy to give out the treats! You may also purchase treats, cow hooves, bones, etc. here at the resort. Please label everything with a permanent marker. Will you give my dog medication? We charge $2 per pet per day to administer medications. We charge $5 for for any intravenous/subcutaneous injections, medications that have to be given at specific times or medications that require a specially-trained administrator. All medication must come in a clearly marked container (preferably the original container) with the following information: Dog's Name Name of Medication and Strength Dosage per day or if needed (let us know at check-in what doses your pet needs that day) Can I check in or out after hours? In an emergency, you may check in or out after hours for an extra fee of $100, if arrangements can be made. Our emergency phone number is 919 280-6708. We will do our best to accommodate emergencies. How much attention will my pet get? We are constantly in contact with all of our guests. As we are cleaning, watering, feeding, picking up bowls, passing out treats, etc. we take the time to talk to our guests and pet them. Of course, for an extra charge you may give your pet even more personalized attention and exercise. $6 per 20 minute session of walking, playtime, or TV Sofa Time. We do offer grooming and you may want to consider signing your dog up for a bath before he goes home. Our playtimes and Doggy Day Camp are held outside. Also, our rooms are smaller than your house and you may take your dog out more times during the day than you have signed him/her up for while staying with us. Even though we try to clean continuously there is a chance your dog may step in something before we get to clean it up. If you want your pet to go home clean and smelling his/her best, signing up for a bath would be very wise. We offer grooming.
