In this class, we will be teaching all the behaviors that are required for certification in the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Class (CGC). You’ll learn to train your dog to be a more biddable, fun, easy-to-live-with companion. We’ll work on long Sits and Downs, Stay, Come, and good manners around dogs and people. We’ll also make some time to teach a few tricks, just for fun! We’ll offer the CGC evaluation on the last day of class, so you can try for CGC certification.

CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
